Privacy Policy

TaxCalc PK is built with a "Privacy First" architecture. Every value you enter into our calculators — your monthly salary, property value, gold weight, phone USD value, or rental income — is processed locally in your web browser using JavaScript. The values never travel to our servers, never enter our databases, and are never logged, cached, or stored anywhere on our infrastructure. When you close the browser tab, the values are gone permanently.

We do not require you to register, sign up, create an account, or provide your name, email, phone number, CNIC, NTN, or any other personal identifier to use any feature of TaxCalc PK. Every calculator is fully functional without any form of authentication or identification. This is a deliberate design choice, not an oversight.

To be completely explicit, here is what TaxCalc PK does not collect from you:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
• Your CNIC, NTN, or any government-issued identifier
• Your salary figures, property values, gold weights, or any financial inputs
• Your IP address (we do not log visitor IPs)
• Your precise geographic location beyond the country level (used only for serving localised content)
• Your browsing history, click patterns, or session recordings
• Any cookies that personally identify you
• Any data that could be combined to identify you personally

TaxCalc PK uses a small set of cookies and storage technologies. We use one preference cookie to remember your last selected tax year (e.g., 2026-27 vs 2025-26) so the calculator opens with your preferred setting. We also use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are visited, roughly how many people visit, and general device/location-level trends. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and does not receive any of your calculator inputs, CNIC, NTN, or other identifying information. We do not use any social media trackers, session-recording tools, or advertising cookies beyond what Google AdSense sets, described below.

We use Google AdSense to serve advertisements on some pages. Google AdSense uses its own cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our site and other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on the visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our site.

4. Third-Party Services We Use

TaxCalc PK relies on a small number of carefully selected third-party services to deliver core functionality. These services receive only the minimum data necessary to perform their function:

• Cloudflare: Hosts our website at the edge for fast loading. Cloudflare may log basic request metadata (timestamp, request path, response status) for security and performance monitoring. We do not share any personal data with Cloudflare.
• Google AdSense: Serves contextual advertisements on some pages. Google may use cookies for ad personalisation as described above.
• Google Analytics (GA4): Provides us with aggregate traffic and usage statistics. Does not receive calculator inputs or personally identifying information from us.
• exchangerate-api.com: Provides live currency exchange rate data for our USD to PKR calculator. The API receives only the currency code you select, not any personal information.
• External gold rate APIs: Provide live gold prices for our gold rate page. These APIs do not receive any personal data from you.

We have reviewed each of these providers' privacy practices and are satisfied that they meet our standards for user data protection. None of them have access to your calculator inputs.

5. Data Security

Because we do not collect or store your personal data, the traditional data breach scenarios that affect most websites are not applicable to TaxCalc PK. There is no user database to breach, no password file to leak, no financial information to steal. The privacy architecture makes data breaches structurally impossible.

The website is served over HTTPS with TLS 1.3 encryption, ensuring that any data that does transit between your browser and our servers (such as the static page HTML and JavaScript files) is encrypted in transit. We use HSTS, secure cookies, and other modern web security headers. Cloudflare's edge network provides additional DDoS protection and rate limiting.

6. Children's Privacy

TaxCalc PK is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. Our calculators are designed for adult Pakistani taxpayers managing their financial planning. If you are a parent and believe your child has used our calculators, please be assured that no data has been collected or stored from that use.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR, CCPA, and Pakistani Law

If you are a resident of the European Union, California, or any other jurisdiction with data protection laws, you have certain rights regarding your personal data — including the right to access, correct, delete, and port your data, and the right to object to processing. Because we do not collect your personal data, these rights are automatically satisfied: there is nothing to access, correct, delete, or port.

Under the Pakistan Personal Data Protection Bill 2023 (when enacted), Pakistani residents will have similar rights. We are committed to complying with all applicable Pakistani data protection legislation as it comes into force.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through a prominent notice on the homepage. The current version always supersedes all previous versions. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your privacy.
