1500 Prize Bond List 15 May 2026 Pakistan

Prize bonds have long been a popular way to save in Pakistan. The Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) held the 1500 prize bond list 15 may 2026 draw in Sialkot, and thousands of lucky holders won prizes. If you hold Rs. 1500 bonds and have not checked the result yet, see below. This guide gives the winning details and also explains how much you actually receive after FBR's withholding tax.

2. What Is a 1500 Prize Bond?

In Pakistan, prize bonds are a government savings scheme managed by the Central Directorate of National Savings and issued by the State Bank of Pakistan. The concept is “interest-free savings”: you lend your money to the government, and in return the government distributes prizes through quarterly draws.

The Rs. 1,500 denomination is seen as a mid-range bond in Pakistan, and it is the most popular because:

  • Affordability: It is cheap — it costs only Rs. 1,500.
  • Quarterly Draws: There are four draws a year, which gives more chances to win.
  • Prizes Variety: Prizes range from Rs. 18,500 to Rs. 3,000,000.
  • Your capital comes back: the bond can be encashed at face value (Rs. 1,500) at any time, so the nominal amount does not fall. But it is not an investment — a prize bond pays no profit or interest, so if your number is not drawn, inflation keeps eroding the real value of your money. Decide according to your own circumstances — this is not financial advice.
  • Liquidity: You can encash these bonds at any bank at any time.

3. How Much Tax Applies to a Prize Bond?

Winning a prize bond is good news, but you do not receive the full prize money, because withholding tax (WHT) is deducted from it for FBR. The rate depends on your Active Taxpayer Status (filer/non-filer).

Active Taxpayer (Filer)

15% WHT

Lower tax burden

Non-Filer

30% WHT

Double tax penalty

Example: Practical Tax Calculation

If you win the Rs. 18,500 3rd prize, here is how much you save by being a filer:

  • Prize Amount:Rs. 18,500
  • Filer Tax (15%):Rs. 2,775
  • Non-Filer Tax (30%):Rs. 5,550
  • Saving as Filer:Rs. 2,775!

On one small prize alone you save Rs. 2,775. On a big prize (1st/2nd) the saving runs into lakhs. To calculate your exact deduction, use our WHT Calculator so you know the net amount you should receive.

4. How to Check the 1500 Prize Bond Result

There are three main ways to check draw results in Pakistan:

Method 1 — Official Website (Web Search)

Method 2 — Mobile App

The State Bank and National Savings have official apps on the Play Store. You can enter your bond number there and turn on notifications.

Method 3 — Bank Branch

5. How to Buy a Prize Bond

Buying prize bonds is very simple, and no special registration is needed. Go to your nearest scheduled bank or any State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) branch and buy bonds at face value.

There are no extra service charges or tax on buying or selling these bonds: pay Rs. 1,500 and you get a Rs. 1,500 bond. National Savings Centres (Qaumi Bachat) are also a good place to buy them.

Before claiming a prize on any old bond, check CDNS's own record rather than relying on a third-party list. The net-prize formula further down this page works for any year's prize.

8. Prize Bond Tax Calculator — How to Work Out the Net Prize

When you claim your prize, the bank pays you the net amount after deducting withholding tax. You can work it out yourself easily.

Filer Formula

Total Amount × 0.85

Example: 3,000,000 × 0.85 = Rs. 2,550,000

Non-Filer Formula

Total Amount × 0.70

Example: 3,000,000 × 0.70 = Rs. 2,100,000

9. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How much tax is deducted on a 1500 prize bond?

Under Section 156, withholding tax of 15% for a filer (on the Active Taxpayers List) and 30% for a non-filer is deducted from a prize bond prize. It is a final tax under Section 156(3) — it is not adjusted in the annual return and is not refunded. For example, on the Rs 3,000,000 first prize a filer receives Rs 2,550,000 and a non-filer Rs 2,100,000.

What is the first prize of the 1500 prize bond?

Rs 3,000,000. It is one winning number, not one person: according to CDNS's draw notice, the number drawn for the first prize wins the first prize in every series. For example, the 17 August 2026 draw had 135 series, so 135 first prizes were awarded. The first-prize number for 15 May 2026 (Draw #106) was 024132.

Is a prize bond halal?

That depends on your own religious interpretation. Some scholars consider it permissible because it is a government loan system in which the principal is returned, while others advise avoiding it because the draw is luck-based. We do not give a ruling on this — consult a scholar you trust.

Does a prize bond expire?

Prize bonds do not normally expire. But if the government withdraws a particular denomination or series, those bonds must be encashed or converted by a set deadline — in that case, check CDNS's notification.

How long after the draw can I claim a prize?

According to CDNS, for up to six (6) years from the draw date, and a claim can normally be lodged 3 to 5 working days after the draw. Every prize on the Rs 1,500 bond is above Rs 1,250, so according to CDNS they can only be claimed at State Bank of Pakistan branches. You need the claim form (on savings.gov.pk), a copy of your CNIC, the original winning bond and a signed copy of it; there is no fee.

Do I get a certificate after the tax is deducted?

Yes — under Section 164(1) the person deducting the tax must give a certificate at the time of deduction. But tax deducted on a prize bond is a final tax under Section 156(3), so it does not become an adjustable credit in the annual return and is not refunded. Keep the certificate anyway — it proves that the tax has been deducted.
