7. FAQ — Prize Bond Pakistan 2026
Q1. Is there a limit on how many prize bonds I can buy?
Not according to CDNS — prize bonds can be bought in any quantity from SBP BSC field offices, National Savings Centres and designated bank branches. A resident individual lists all their assets in the wealth statement filed with the return (section 116(2)), so prize bonds go in it too.
Q2. How do I encash an old prize bond?
Present the original bond at the counter of an SBP BSC office, a commercial bank or a National Savings Centre and take its face value. According to CDNS, a prize bond stays valid until the scheme is closed.
Q3. What if I lose a prize bond?
An ordinary prize bond is a bearer instrument — in CDNS's words, ownership rests with whoever holds it, “just like currency notes”, so payment of its prize is not stopped if it is lost. Premium bonds are registered in the investor's name, and their prizes go straight to a bank account.
Q4. How many bonds are in a series, and can winning be guaranteed?
According to CDNS, a series has 999,999 bonds. The draw is made by a committee using a hand-operated machine, and no bond can be guaranteed to win — holding more bonds raises your chances, but each prize is drawn separately.
